BRUNEI WANTS TO BUY C-130J HERCULES

The US State Department has approved a pending Foreign Military Sale to Brunei for one Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules aircraft and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an estimated cost of 343 million USD.

Air Force Commander Brigadier General (U) Hj Wardi Hj Latip made the announcement recently during the 48th anniversary celebrations for the Royal Brunei Air Force held at Rimba Air Force Base’s Parade Square.

Included in the sale are six AE2100D3 turboprop engines: four installed on the aircraft, plus two reserves. The US considers the sale to Brunei critical for assistance in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief. The aircraft will enable Brunei to provide aid and assistance in greater capacities to regional allies and partners in need. The aircraft will also provide the ability to execute maritime patrol missions and contribute to search and rescue missions in the region.
